1. Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how TheFoodix (“we”, “our”, or “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our marketing website, the restaurant dashboard, and our public guest menu pages.

We've kept this short on purpose. We don't use cookies for advertising, retargeting, behavioural profiling, or third-party analytics. The cookies we use exist solely to keep you signed in and to make the product work. For broader information practices, please see our Privacy Policy.

2. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to store. The browser sends them back on each subsequent visit to the same site, which lets the site “remember” things — most commonly that you're signed in.

Some sites also use related browser-storage technologies (such as local storage) for similar purposes. We treat these the same way as cookies in this policy because the privacy implications are similar.

3. Cookies We Use

We only use a small number of essential cookies and storage entries — required for the product to function. They fall into two categories:

Authentication

Set when you sign in to your TheFoodix account. They keep you signed in as you navigate the dashboard and let us renew your session securely without asking you to re-enter your password every few minutes. Without these, you cannot sign in.

Functional

Small entries we keep on your device to make the experience smoother — for example, caching basic display information so the dashboard renders instantly on reload, or remembering active orders during a guest's table session so live order tracking survives a page refresh. These contain only the minimum information needed for the feature.

All of the above are first-party (set by TheFoodix, not third parties) and are restricted to the TheFoodix product. They are not shared with anyone else.

4. Third-Party Cookies

We don't embed third-party tracking scripts on our own pages. However, certain product flows hand you off to a partner's hosted page, and that partner sets its own cookies on its own domain. These cookies are governed by that partner's privacy policy, not ours.

  • Payment processors — when a restaurant owner upgrades a subscription, we redirect to a hosted checkout page operated by our payment partner. Cookies set there belong to that partner.
  • Social sign-in providers — if you choose to sign in using a social account, that provider may set cookies on its own domain during the sign-in handshake. We never see those cookies.

We have no control over cookies set by these partners. If you would like to learn more, please review the cookie or privacy policy of the partner whose page you are on.

5. What We Don't Use

To be explicit about what is not happening when you visit any TheFoodix page:

  • No third-party analytics or behavioural tracking
  • No advertising, retargeting, or marketing pixels
  • No cross-site tracking or device fingerprinting
  • No data brokers or audience-segmentation services
  • No social-media share-button cookies

If we ever introduce optional analytics in the future, we will update this policy before turning it on, and we will add a clear preference control if regulations require one.

6. Managing Cookies

Because the cookies we use are strictly necessary, we don't show a consent banner — but you remain in full control of cookies through your browser. You can clear or block cookies at any time from your browser's settings.

Browser controls

What happens if you block them?

Blocking our authentication cookies will prevent you from signing in to the dashboard. Clearing functional storage may temporarily reset things like the order tracker on a guest's table session. Our marketing site, blog, and legal pages work without any cookies at all.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if our cookie usage changes — for example, if we add new product features, change payment processors, or introduce optional analytics. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will also be announced in-app or by email.
